I believe that most professional photographers began as hobbyists. Anyway, I certainly did!. As a saxophone player in a rock band that traveled a lot, there was always a plethora of things that I deemed interesting enough to document. What better way to capture the many antics of the band than with photography.
After the band days, my profession changed to radio broadcasting on WMMN. My interest in photography continued to grow and my wife Fran suggested that I go professional, so radio stepped aside as photography became my only profession.
I have been awarded two titles by the Professional Photographers of America: CPP (Certified Professional Photographer) and CPPS for negative retouching (Certified Professional Photographic Specialist). I also received my certification on the State level, and am a past president of The Professional Photographers of West Virginia.
